Whenever I want to get something for my mobile be it themes, applications etc, I search, download them on to my PC first & scan with PC antivirus before transferring the files to my mobile for use.
Question here, will avast be able to detect a mobile virus if present during the PC scanning. Are mobile virus definitions (regardless of OS android, symbian, windows…) also present in Avast PC antivirus/security virus definitions. Can Avast Antivirus Detect Mobile Viruses !

How avast for Windows can identify malware for, say, Android? (I’m not doubting you, I’m just asking.)
I don’t know if the engine and/or definitions are the same for the (new) mobile products of Avast (comparing to avast for Windows 5 / 6 ), but even in such a case, malware could use different methods (taking advantage of different feature / characteristics of different OSs). :-\

I am using Symbian OS. Can Avast PC antivirus detect known Symbian viruses or it can only detect Android based viruses.
