Can I (and how can I) remove old NG snapshots

I’m running Avast 17.9.2322 on Windows and I’m trying to free up some disk space.

I see some old Avast files from Sep 2015 in the ‘C:\Users\All Users\AVAST Software\Avast\ng’ directory. Notably there are some large ‘snapshot…’ files there.

Nothing in that directory appears to have been created after Sep 2015.

  1. Can I remove that old ‘NG’ directory (is it still used)?

  2. Is there a preferred method or just whack the directory?

Best you perform a clean reinstall.

That mostly worked. Removing Avast definitely removed the old NG snapshots but left from log files around. Those were pretty easy to remove.

I then re-installed and reconfigured as I had before.
