I Have Avast 4.8 Pro. Is there a setting to make Avast to exclude certain files in a routine scan? If so, how do I find it? I have a 200 GB file archive of old photographs that don’t need to be scaned every time because I’m not adding to or changing that file. And it takes Avast several hours to scan that entire file.
avast Program Settings, Exclusions, add the path to the folder C:\mediafolder*.jpg that * wild card would exclude all .jpg files in that folder.
If that folder has a longer path C:*\mediafolder*.jpg (or *.png, etc depending on the file type).
Or C:*\mediafolder* which would exclude all files and sub-folders of the mediafolder, you have to exercise care when using wildcards or you could be leaving a large hole in your security.
