In MSN Messenger, there is an option which uses an antivirus program to scan various received files through MSN itself. But it asks for a path(to scan files using xxx)… what path should I give or tell me the complete URL! Thanks!

The file you are looking for is ashQuick.exe.
But what’s the complete path of the file?
The file is inside your avast! installation directory - so it depends on where you installed it.
Generally: C:\Program Files.…\avast4\ashquick.exe
If you cannot found, search for ashquick.exe by Windows Explorer
