On occasion I get virus warnings concerning PeoplePC, they eventually prove to be false positives. I don’t use PeoplePC and have never used it. I think it came loaded in my computer because when I go to Online Services it’s there along with other internet links.
Can I uninstall it? It’s the only one that is always giving me a hard time. If I can, what’s the best way of getting rid of this cursed thing ???
If you dont use peoplepc as your isp or webmail provider then simply uninstall it via remove programs, good idea to reboot after uninstalling and then run ccleaner to remove the leftovers.
Thanks, but it doesn’t show up in the remove programs. I did do a search and about 5 things for it showed up. Would it help or hurt things if I just deleted them?
I would create a restore point first just in case and then delete, are there any references to peoplepc in program files or program data ? if there are i would delet them first then try a search again.
Help files
configuration settings
program files/online services
From the way it looks, the computer had a number of online services downloaded waiting to be installed: eg. Netscape, Earthlink, AOL, MSN and PeoplePC, buy PPC is the only one that causes any problems.
As far as setting a restore point, every time I’ve tried to do that it wouldn’t work, I get a message that it’s unable to restore. Is there anything I can do to fix that? So would it be okay to delete the files without setting a restore point?
To set a restore point go to control panel and click on system then up the top left there should be system protection, open that and you should see create, click and name your restore point then create.
If you dont use any of those sevices by all means delet them.
