So… Any suggestions?..

Hi dbynth123, I’m sorry you’re having trouble with Avast Mac Security. Could you please provide installation logs? Namely /private/var/log/system.log and all logs starting with avast in /tmp .

Note that /tmp is purged after avery boot, so if you’ve rebooted since the failed installation, please reproduce the problem first.

Also note that you’re not running the latest version of Mac OS X 10.9 which is 10.9.5. While I’m not aware of any incompatibilities regarding this version, we generally support only up-to-date systems in their major versions (10.10.2, 10.9.5, 10.7.5, 10.6.8).

Thanks!

Hi, here is a system log, where word “avast” can be found:

Anyway, here is full log:

Later i’ll try to make 10.9.5 version of my OSX.

Your system is for some reason missing the following directory:

/Library/LaunchAgents

(probably deleted by some broken application - the directory should be present in all OS X
versions by default). If you create this directory (must be owned by root/wheel UID/GID) Avast
should install.

Yep! This is it! I’ve created this folder and Avast was installed successfully. Thanks for helping so much!

Hello there, I have a same problem with installation. Im on ElCapitan 10.11.4. I had success installation of Avast 2016 for Mac before, but had a problem with Security connection on Chrome browser, so I uninstalled Avast and try reinstall. New installation had same ending picture witch is in this tread. I cant find any logs in Mac. Can someone help me? Maybe I did mistake with uninstalling because first I removed Avast Secure Line (kill app and remove with APPDelete) then restarted Mac. This because ending free days for trying. Then I had a problem with security connection. So I uninstalled Avast via uninstall app in image.

How can work (must be owned by root/wheel UID/GID)
