Can not receive e-mail from Outlook

after install avast 4.8 professional to my PC (Sony Vaio VGN SZ; WIN 2000XP; service pack 2); I can not sent and receive my e-mail anymore; even when i stop the outlook protection.

ERROR message something like (0x800CCC90) internal (POP3) mail servor error, … please contact admin …
Servor responds - ERRConsurrent connections limit in avast exceeded(pass:0, processes:ccSvcHst.ex[20]. :cry: ???

Which is your firewall?
Which is your spam killer application?
Which is your email provider (GMail?)?

You were using Norton. Did you uninstall it?

This is the culprit, ccSvcHst.exe eating all the available concurrent connections. It is a part of Symantec/Norton which you either still have installed or remnants remaining, you need to uninstall it and also run this tool.
