You can report false positives from here:
i reported already yesterday — seems no reaction — unless confirmed to being false alert, it’s not wise to overrire
Definitions are from 13Apr2025 (build 250413.2)
Avast Version is from 09Apr2025 (build 25.3.9983.925)
Usually it took a few days to process. Also please note that you won’t get any response to the submission.
If you hurry to check, you can use Virustotal for second opinions:
thanks for clarifying…
Updated to definitions 250418-0 … still Win32:Evo-gen [Trj]
for me looks like Avast does not want users to install free Zonelabs Firewall, no reaction … nearly one week has passed since first report to avast.
That’s unfortunate… can you post where did you download ZoneAlarm installer?
Also, Virustotal URL if possible.
Download was via (Free Firewall | ZoneAlarm), Virustotal: VirusTotal - File - b9b68e433bf4ba9dec938732b7759ded93e4decb475bd42cd4d55b57d4b57c2e
rechecked with definitions 250418, engine 25.3.9983.936 … same result
have sent requested info. but article is blocked at moment by spam filter… is this normal ?
I’m not familiar with spam filters, maybe trying hXXp instead of http?
I can confirm the detection here. It seems an uninstaller inside is detected as malicious, possibly caused by false positive. I reported the uninstaller file as FP, let’s see what happens.
I think, is false positive too. However, the no reaction on it worries me.
