Cannot access shared drive and RDP issue

Have a small machine running windows 10 that I am using as a “USB drive host”. It has a slew of USB drives connected to it.
2 issues:

  1. I have the drives shared. I have a shared link in a windows 7 machine, and when I try to open the drive, it says the file share is no longer connected. When I shut off avast on the Windows 10 machine, the share opens back up. I have given that Windows 7 machine an address reservation in my router, and added that IP address to Avast to tell it to allow that connection, and as a matter of fact, I have included ALL local IP addresses in that range . The ONLY way to connect the drive is to disable the core shields, make the connection, and then reenable the core shields. Then it will last 24 hours.

  2. If I disable the core shields for 10 minutes, my RDP to the machine shuts down completely and I have to wait 10 minutes for them to re-enable and I ma good to go.

Here’s a screen of the setup showing open connections at bottom…yet., no love

That’s were I went to at first before posting in this forum. The RDP hanging is a pain. The Shares I think I have figured out.

Once again, an update to Avast has screwed me. I cannot access a drive shared on another machine on my network, and when I disable Avast shields, my RDP to that machine shuts down completely.

you guys are creating more problems than fixing them.

1 year later - and the issue persists. If I shut down the avast shields for any period of time, I cannot access the machine via RDP.
