cannot restore on Android

I have Mobile backup 1.07754 Premium. Phone needed reset, so I backed up contacts, Calls and messages. After reetting, wouldn’t allow restore (greyed out). Went to website on my computer and Avast thinks I have a new phone (it archived the old one with the backup). Somehow, I was able to access my old phone data on my phone (don’t remember how) and started the Restore process.

Then I was told it wouldn’t restore unless I used Mobile Backup for my messages. Didn’t want to do this, but I did, assuming there was an Avast texting app. After it seemed to have done something, I looked for this “app”, which I guess doesn’t exist. The messages weren’t anywhere I could find either. I have professional contact info in there, which I would like.

Thanks for the reply. Though, it appears the articles and threads you referred me to are not complete (helpful articles deleted, etc.) due to Backup being discontinued. Don’t see a way to address this.
