can't connect to Internet after installing Avast!

my computer won’t connect to the Internet after installing and running a full system scan with Avast! Other devices can connect to Internet through the same Internet connection. Please help!

What avast version are you using 6/7/8 and free, pro or avast internet security ?

What is your operating system and firewall ?
Does it allow avastSvc.exe internet access ?

  • If it does delete the entry for it and reconnect to the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again. avast.setup

I’m on a Mac v. 10.6.8. Not sure how to specify the firewall.

I don’t know either as I don’t use a Mac, you might be better placing this in the avast! for Mac forum, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=5.0, if this also relates to the avast! for Mac version.
