Can't enter license code?

Hello,
I recently installed Avast on my home computer and I registered it, but never got a code to enter into it? But it’s saying it’s registered… I have had it before with the same email address, but when I installed it the last time I got a code like the first time I installed it. Ok, I’m really sorry if that doesn’t make since to anyone. =/ I just want to know if it is in fact registered? Is this something new that is being done?

did you install it on top of avast 4.8?

Yes, it’s 5.
And no, I’ve not had Avast on this computer, it was on my old one.

strange…if you install avast 5 on top of avast 4.8 then it will read the license key from 4.8 during install
but if you never had 4.8 on that computer…
anyway…if it is working… :smiley:

Avast 5 registers online without entering a code, if you enter the details into the program, it should register and complete without any more problems. If it is the pro version, or the IS version you should be able to convert your 4.8 licence into a version 5 on the Avast website, and you will probably get an email then with a new code. If it’s working and says the proper expiry date of the licence, I wouldn’t worry.

Trying to help but a little in the dark as I’m only using the Free version, and that did register online.

Seems to have worked/be working though.

Here is the answer....... you did use the online registering, then there is no key to enter. Fill out the form click and thats it
