Can't find license file or activiation code

Hi,

I just bought a 2 year subscription and can’t seem to find the license file. I already had Avast installed so followed the Renew Now option within the program, which brought me to the order site. I entered my payment details and everything was successful (REF# 401131405).

I clicked the link starting: http://esd.element5.com/key… and saved the file. I went into avast and clicked the “insert license file” option and went to the folder where the license file was saved, but it wasn’t available to open i.e. it didn’t appear in the windows explorer pane as an option to open.

So, I went into the folder where the file was and double clicked it, but it just opened a tab in firefox* with writing, starting with - # AVAST Software License File:[8 digit number] # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - ANY CHANGES WILL INVALIDATE THE LICENSE!..

*the extension of the file downloaded was .html (and not .avastlic)

So I went back and installed the product from this link:

I repeated the steps to try and insert the license file from within Avast but to no avail.

Any ideas how I can sort this, becaues I now am not protected at all.

Hey Asyn, thanks for the reply.

I haven’t actually received an email with the license file. Do you know how long it takes, or can I have it re-sent?

EDIT: I have checked my junkmail also

The only emails I have received have been the element 5 payment information and the registration of this forum
