cant install newest Deamon Tools Lite OR AnyDVD & AnyDVD HD 6.7.9.0 on Avast 6.0.1000 ???
my system is now a fresh reformated windows install because Avast 6 messed my old windows up as it already had Deamon Tools Lite and AnyDVD & AnyDVD HD 6.7.9.0 installed and on a bootup it would FREEZE computer up and system tray icons would like be stuck trying to load of failed loading for some odd reason any way back to new fresh install windows now.
Problem now is i installed avast 6.0.1000 and it seems to not like Deamon Tools Lite OR AnyDVD & AnyDVD HD 6.7.9.0, i can install both programs and reboot BUT upon rebooting AnyDVD & AnyDVD HD 6.7.9.0 seems to freeze computer up and the system tray icon does not appear at all so when i click on desktop icon for AnyDVD HD 6.7.9.0 the mouse icon shows a hourglass and whole computer freezes all desktop, all icons on system tray wont work except avast, i can acess hdd through My Computer icon but if i click on anything it freezes up totally.
Deamon Tools Lite seems to load if i dont install the STPD advanced emulation drivers with it on a first reboot it seems ok, but when i reboot a second time computer freezes exact same situation as the AnyDVD & AnyDVD HD 6.7.9.0 situation.
The only way to fix this problem is to do a system restore from safe mode. my old system had avast 5 on it and worked fine for years on end till avast 6 installed… if i only knew about system restore then it might of fixed it but i now have fresh new win xp insatlled to a new HDD too.
my system is windows XP SP3 Home, zonealarm pro 9.3.037.000, avast 6.0.1000, Asus mother board, AMD phenom 9850 quadcore, 2 gigs ram, Geforce GTX 260.
is this going to be fixed soon as i have always used avast and only avast 6 had started these problems, i am tempted to go back to avast 5, but i want avast 6 as its newer and probably better protection etc etc.
my existing avast 5 version for install is Avast home free 5.0 as of (16.06.10) how would i get a newer avast 5 or can i update the program to the newest avast 5 but not 6 anyway?
