My friend and I are trying to reinstall avast on her computer after she uninstalled it but no matter what we do we can’t get it to work. There’s a trojin on the computer and there’s no way to get it back on. Here’s the error log she got if it helps. Is there anyone here who can help. It’s an hp running vista.
There's a trojin on the computerI guess you mean a trojan? How do you now this, what program warned you? Does the trojan have a name?
Hi megas :
Perhaps you and your friend should try INITIALLY to install the FREE Version
of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware ( www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php ) and/or
“SUPERAntiSpyware” ( www.superantispyware.com ) !? These 2 programs
are good at finding and dealing with “Trojan(s)” .
no notification since there’s no avast. it’s just not allowing her to install it. she couldnt get into safe mode for a while. system restore isn’t working and she can’t install any other antivirus programs like avg to get rid of it. What else could it be iuf it’s not a trojan? I’m pretty sure it’s not spyware.
This looks like a rescue disk case
Dr.Web CureIt!® http://www.freedrweb.com/livecd/
How Does it work http://www.freedrweb.com/livecd/how_it_works/
but i don’t want to format and it still boots up it just doesn’t let her install any more antivirsus programs.
You may not need to format it. Did you read the information concerning the rescue disk?
You’ll need a clean computer to download it/burn it.
The sick computer should be enabled in the BIOS to boot from the disk. See here. It quite likely is nr1 in the BIOS boot order, anyway.
