This morning when i booted up my PC i get the error from avast that updating has failed and that i should try again.
So i did and it came with the error http server returned error.
i guess this is a problem an Avast’s side, since all my friends seem to have the same problem.
I hope this gets fixed soon.
Me too. I mean me three four. Exact same thing: http server error.
Update is available, download is initiated, then snags. It may persevere for a few steps, repeating the error at near-regular intervals, than throws in the towel and lies (?):
claims “already up to date” with virus definition version 140213-1, while displaying “HTTP server returned error” just above it.
We’d all appreciate some feedback or acknowledgement from whoever wakes up first.
And more importantly, I hope avast tech get into fifth gear (maybe sixth or seventh) on this as I don’t want an encrypted-file ransom attack just now on account of some lapsed virus definitions update.
Did any of you happen to check if your streaming updates are still working ? server problems are usually maintenance related and don’t usually last long.
As I wrote on another relatively thread http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=146308.0 I had an indication for a new version of the Avast program just after five to ten minutes and a couple of attempts to update the definitions , I did the whole process very quick and looks to be my laptop fine.
