cant submit to virus lab

im having avast 6 and detected some viruses , moved to chest… then i submitted to virus lab which said itll be submitted during the next update

but when i update it doesnt submit… anyone else face similar probleem??

Submitting samples itself doesn’t mean these will be detected.

These “submitted” files will be submitted when next VPS update check is performed, so performing manual VPS update will be good way to submit them immediately.

Wait for the next VPS update, they may be detected then

How do you know it wasn’t submitted ?
Did you watch the complete update process as the upload is integral to that.

i have submitted files to virus lab in avast5 and it will show submitting to virus lab while updating manually using gui…but no such thing in v6 check out …u can verify with eicar test file yourself

hope u didnt understand properly, i dont have any problem with detection. My real problem is when i perform a manual vps update/program update , the files are not uploaded !!

try downloading this file…

http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/RemoveWGA-Download-42782.html

its not a virus but detected by avast and will move the file to chest. now right click --submit to virus lab–do manual update…!! the file is NOT uploaded to virus lab

and what is the detected name ?

This works perfectly fine for me, see image of file being uploaded during the manual update.

So I really don’t know what is going on with your system/avast installation as it never seems to have been right from the start. You have been reporting problems all over the place from when you updated to avast 6.0 or possibly earlier.

Ah, sorry for that.

As DavidR says sample submission system works fine for me too. Maybe your installation got corrupted ???

Try repair of avast!.
Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast! Free antivirus → Remove → Repair.
