I’ve got a problem: Since I’m using Norton Internet Security which is not compatible with Avast, I would like to uninstall Avast. But when I go to settings/system control/software and try to uninstall Avast, nothing happens.
I think maybe it’s because the program is open. Avast starts automatically when I start my computer, and I can’t find a way to close it.

No. avast should be uninstalled correctly even when it’s running.
The problem is that you have Norton running, so avast installation is very, very compromised.
Uninstall avast from Control Panel first (test again) and boot.
I think disable is not enough… you can try in order to uninstall, really, we can’t go further helping if the situation is a conflict between two installed antivirus :
