A few days ago, shortly after updating Avast to the latest release, I started getting an error message pertaining to Avast whenever I’d boot up my computer. I tried opening Avast to see if something was wrong but I’d get the error message again. I’ve tried uninstalling Avast to see if reinstalling it might work, but I get an error message when I try that. I downloaded a program called avastclear which was recommended to uninstall Avast and I get the same error message. I have tried starting my computer in both safe mode and safe mode with networking and tried uninstalling and using avastclear. I don’t get the error message while in either safe mode, but my command to try to uninstall or use the avastclear program simply get ignored. I downloaded CCleaner and ran that, correcting any errors found and still can’t uninstall Avast. I installed two different malware scanners (Emsisoft and Antimalwarebytes) and ran both of them, removing all malware found, and still can’t uninstall Avast. I figured since Avast isn’t working whatsoever, I needed a working anti-virus program so I installed AVG free. My computer apparently registered two AV programs and stopped working properly, such as refusing to open any web browser. I removed AVG and won’t be trying that again. I am without a working AV program so I’m reluctant to do much online at all. Can anyone help me? This is the error message I get every time I try to uninstall Avast or use the avastclear program.

After the reboot run Avast clear from normal mode

After running Avast Clear, it said Emsisoft was a conflicting AV program and needed to be uninstalled, which I did and then restarted my computer. Am I now able to install Avast?

Yaaaaaaaaay, it’s working again! I spent ALL DAY yesterday trying to fix it and felt completely useless when absolutely nothing worked. I think it goes without saying that I never in a million years would have figured this out on my own. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I think that it was A2 that was complicating matters
Remove tools
Download and run Delfix
Select the options as shown
I don’t even know what A2 is, but I’m so glad you figured it out. I just downloaded and am running the program now that you recommended.
