Help please keep getting the message “D/loading file: servers.def.vpx” and then “Cannot connect to d/load 697.avast.com” have tried the fix in the previous thread ie change firewall permissions and even turning firewall off, but this hasn’t worked, any ideas??
Set “No proxy” at Update > Proxy settings and test.
I had a problem where it said auto-update was unsuccessful and solved it just be closing out of everything and rebooting: Other things you can try:
1.) Go To Control Panel: Add/Remove Programs, Find Avast, Select Repair.
2.) Opeing the program from the desktop to update manually.
3.) Rebooting. Updates, if set to auto as the default, are done after every reboot. OR
4.) Wait until the next four hour update check when Avast will try to update again.
Try all of these before considering an uninstall or reinstall. Sometimes Avast’s servers and your computer’s ISP may have brain farts causing some auto updates to not come through as scheduled.
