CCleaner

What do you people think about CCleaner? Is it good, bad? Is it securtiy related? I was thinking about downloading it and want to know if it is a good piece of software.
Thanks for the feedback

For me, a good privacy and junk Cleaner
I don’t see it as security related, but cleaning related 8)

I’ve been using it a while, it really is more related to cleaning but has a place in security, I’ve read at least one malware removal guide that recommends running it. Nothing there you can’t do manually, if you know how, (I think) but it seriously shortcuts the process.
Includes a fairly gentle registry cleaner, secure deletion options, cookie whitelist, startup list, and a few other bits and pieces. Good forum help available. Not many bugs. Recommend.

Yeah… you’re right… I’ve forgot that, sometimes, cleaning is security

CCleaner is a safe program that is gaining popularity and has been recommended from many trustworthy sources including www.cnet.com Just click on the download tab at the top of the page and do a search for it in software and you can read many reviews.

Yeah, CCleaner is a good program and I use it and like what it does

CCleaner is one of the best “junk” cleaner I’ve used. ;D

Another option is Clear Prog http://www.clearprog.de/index.php?lang=en it is my preferred cleaner program because that is all it does clear temp files, etc. It doesn’t try to do lots of other things just get rid of the junk and in that respect it is more configurable than CCleaner IMHO.

 Hi all :

I have AVOIDED CCleaner because have heard its "Issues" portion, the "registry cleaner", has
caused problems for some; I prefer a "standalone" registry cleaner. For "general" cleaning,
I use "Traceless" and "ATF Cleaner"; the later was developed by antiSPYWARE Expert
"atribune" and is available at www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/ .

I use ClearProg too… Very configurable.

Can you post more? I mean, I’m not sure that some registry problems that I’ve had are due to CCleaner. If so, I’ll drop it down… took me too much time to solve. Microsoft gave me no support at all… Google was empty in solutions for my problems >:( :frowning:
