You guys bought out Piriforms CCleaner and didn't inform any users.
Strange, as i do remember seeing it on avast and piriform blog

Was I Affected?
-Users running the 32-bit version of the application (not the 64-bit version)

-Users running version 5.33.6162 of CCleaner or CCleaner Cloud 1.07.3191, released on August 15th, 2017’

According to Bleeping Computer, Avast aquired Piriform on July 19th 2017.

It had been announced on the Piriform website as well as on the avast website and many others.

Every app can be hacked, nothing new there.

I strongly suggest you go wash your mouth and check the FAQs before posting incorrect information.

@sjhoyes2

Eddy is right and you are barking up the wrong tree, while you are cleansing your mouth with foamy soap. ::slight_smile:
Remember it was Symantec insecure Certification practices that is endangering us all now.

Was it not Google that urged Symantec CA to clean their slates for putting all of us at risk with their sloppy insecure practices?
Go and complain there for creating an insecure CCleaner certification that malcreants could get their dirty hands on…

Update: More concern for some affected users:

Read: http://blog.talosintelligence.com/2017/09/ccleaner-c2-concern.html

At least 20 victims now with additional malware sent by the CCleaner Command and Control Server
certainly have to reset their operational systems to a known clean state before July 15th last.

One of the problems and reasons for making attacks easier is the fact that many are still
running old equipment and usually on old operating systems.

That I can’t confirm and I never was infected.
