Whenever i run avast home ed, i get a pop up warning window that recomends to move the virus/spyware to the chest…Why is not recomended to delete it permanently instead of going in to the virus chest and deleting them. ?If so, How can i change the settings permanently? because i cant wait for the warning window to pop up…I live avast to keep running smoothly without any stopping.
BTW, I am new user and i love this AV, way better than norton…Way to go Avast
Also, whenever finished, the results window lists a series of files that was unable to scan because it is password protected. Most of the files are either sbRecovery.reg and sbRecovery.ini
Are these harmeless?
Another question: will avast work in conjuction with Kazaa? despite the high occurences of spyware lurking in that server…
since you are new to Avast I strongly suggest you read the manual/help and make yourself familiar with Avast and what all the options/settings mean.
Also use the search option on this board, before asking please.
Many question have been asked and answered here.
No offense ofcourse, but to the people who are trying to help here it is (sometimes) getting really anoying if people ask the same question over and over again.
Now to your questions:
You can set Avast Home to run in silent mode with general answer yes.
No av can scan password protected files or encrypted files it don’t know the pw/encryption method
Eddy, the answer Yes in Silent Mode keeps the virus in the file or into the message (attach) and continue the scanning.
You can’t configure ‘delete the infected file’ in the Home version.
In Home version you can check the option “Don’t show this window again” as soon as the first virus warning appears, and click on “No action” button.
This way, nothing will be done and you will be presented the results at the end (and you can perform actions from there).
In Silent Mode: Left click the ‘a’ blue icon. It will start On-access protection then choose the providers, click on Customize, go to Advanced tab and select Silent Mode and the default answer No. This will send the file (email) to Chest.
