There are well known problems concerning the uncompatibility Kaspersky-Avast products, not only related to KAV, the most are when one install KAH (the Kaspersky firewall). Two weeks ago I have installed the KAH and a window appeared on the screen (something like this: “warning! Avast Antivirus detected. Please unistall it”, I don’t remember well). After this warning, immediately I have unistalled KAH obviously. Is not a XP problem, I’m sure.

… Maybe this post is not the right place for this comment, but is real this uncompatibility with Kaspersky products. Many persons see it, unfortunately. :-\
Ahh, but only those that are using avast see it. So hopefully they are as wise as you and uninstall the correct program, KAH (the Kaspersky firewall).
Hopefully Alwil will already be in contact with KAH Kaspersky, to resolve the issue, rather than simply have Kaspersky, display this unreasonable warning.

You see that a lot when programs do not define properly. That is why all these incompatibility problems. I think AVAST is not to blame. It is just a question of coding and not being able to check properly. Analyze files with a hex viewer and these incompatibilities come to light. Programming is not that easy, and there are a lot of dialects.
