Since the beginning of my subscription (januari 2024) I had the VPN functionality on all my devices.
Today is saw that this was not available anymore. When I chat with support (AI) they say that it was certainly a trial but in my opinion a trial does not work during more then 2 years.
I think that the functionality VPN is removed and now they can charge for it.
did someone else noticed this change too?
If you subscribe for 3 years I expect to have all what I got from the beginning also till the end of the 3 years.
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member and I don’t use the Avast VPN product.
I rarely use a VPN so purchasing one for me would be a waste. When I do need one I use a free VPN from Proton which is very limited in the servers locations you can use (3).
You have posted in the General Sub-Forum, but you haven’t said what Avast product it was that you purchased ?
Previously the VPN product came with Avast Premium and Avast One, but recently the Avast VPN is no longer bundled (in either of those products) but is a stand alone paid product.
I understand if it was in the bundle when you purchased a 3 year deal, to my way of thinking, that deal really should be honoured.
I purchased Avast premium desiring and VPN was included from the beginning January 2024 and did work until somewhere this month. So as you say it should be working for my 3 year subscription. But no solution from Avast AI bot. Keeps saying that it was a trial version of VPN. For the price I paid I can get other similar antivirus solutions with VPN.
As far back as I can remember, and for as long as I’ve been using Avast Premium (12 years), the VPN has never been included with Avast Premium.
In the Avast product suites, it is included with Avast Ultimate and the paid version of Avast ONE, but it is no longer included with the free version of Avast ONE.
If you had access to the VPN, it was likely not through Premium Security.
It looks like a separate 2-year subscription to “SecureLine VPN”
I had a new discussion with the AI-bot but finally it did send me to a real person. They are investigating my subscription and my discussion with the AI and they will give me an answer by mail.
So i hope it will be resolved or they have an acceptable answer.
I got several mails from Avast. But still no solution, they say that they understand that I want my functionality of VPN till the end of my subscription period but the solution seems in fact very difficult.
A friend installed the same version on his smartphone and has access to VPN.
