Changing anti virus

Due to Avast on both our laptops kept having software crashing…

windows 7 64bit
avast free

and other
windows vista 32bit
avast free

been scanning for malware and virus = 0 found…
been chkdsk… nothing
seems one of the sandbox is a mess

both of them are now changed back to Microsoft Security Essentials which both of them have less crashes with MSE than avast!
which we dont use any pirate stuff, p2p or bad sites…

Blaming avast is easy. But have you ever thought that it is not avast that is causing the problem, but the software you are using?
Have you checked the error logs ?
Have you analyzed the dumpfiles ?

Found this on my laptop

when changed to a different anti virus seems it stopped crashing 2 days ago

Looking at that picture, it looks like “mobile zune” is (part of) the problem.
Too bad you already removed avast or we could have tried some things to see where the problem is.

  • adding zune to the exception list.
  • removing/disabling zune.
  • shutting down the avast providers one at a time.
