changing email address

I’m running Avast free addition on WinXP Pro SP3. I want to change my email address for the downloads and for this forum. Will someone please tell me how to change both of them? My old email address is about to expire and I have to use the new one. Thanks.

I would remove the emails from the post unless you like spam, as this is a publicly available forum so it could get harvested.

Downloads of what, I don’t know of any downloads that are email required ?

You should be able to change your profile settings, email address soon 20 posts is a requirement to make certain profile changes. Though I’m not sure if you would be able to change email sooner, check the Profile, Account settings and see if you can access the email field.

I can access the account settings, but it will only let me change my password. There is no way to change the email address.

get a Gmail / yahoo mail / hotmail then you want have that problem..... as long as you log in once every 90 days

One more post should do it, strange that it will allow a password change but not the email address.

Hover over the huge Profile button at the top of the page, select Account settings.

Man I’m dumb. When I open Avast! User Interface, all I see is Share Support and Settings at the top. I was there once and now I’m lost.

Henry is not Avast! UI you have to open. It is Profile at the top of the forum page. Just under your avatar.

I also cannot change my email address. I’m hoping this post allows me to update it.

Add the new email address and set it to primary one.

https://my.avast.com > your name > profile details > delete account

I finally figured it out. Your forum account is linked to your My Avast ID. You have to go there to update your email address.

If a moderator wants to delete all of my junk posts trying to get my posting volume up to change my password, then please do that.
