Hello, I just installed avast Pro version and I read a post easrlier that said to release memory usage todo something that involved clicking on undo in some menu or another. Can anyone help me please?
I can maybe help, but I’m not clear on what you are asking or why. Can you explain what you want to achieve, and post a link to the post you are referring to, please.
to release memory usage
-= To free up memory…? I don’t actually get your point but if it is to free up some memory, maybe, a RAM boosting software may help like MZ RAM Booster 3.0…
*BTW, I’ve got lot of errors after using RAM boosters…
You can use CleanMem. It is very effective. For instance, it reduced the ram usage of firefox from 135 mb to 61 mb on my system. And it is free. For further info: http://www.pcwintech.com/node/145
First, are you having a memory problem with Avast on your system? How did you determine it? Second, if the “non-released memory” is shared memory in Task Manager, then it makes no difference because it will be released when needed by another application. Third, if you are not sure about all of this, don’t change anything from defaults until you have used Avast for a while and can take the time to detemine how it is working on your system.
I don’t think you need to use any RAM manager (on contrary, most of the times, RAM managers just use CPU and make things slower) and even less using avast Pro. Keep Standard Shield at Normal (not High) level and you’ll have the best balance between performance and protection.
I wish I could, if I could find the post, I could find out what he said to do about it. I stream TV sometimes and have found when avast is running i get slower frame rate. I have an AMD processor core 2.7ghz, with 2.0 Gigs of Ram, around 220 GB hard drive space I believe. Windows vista Home premium
Are you running each of the providers at normal sensitivity, not high? That would be the usual thing that might sometimes slow the transfer rate.
One more memory management program. Actually, a lot of this guy’s tools are pretty useful.
