Today I checked out my computer with Avast. When scanning was end I get the messages that Avast wans´t able to scan and open some files ( I chosed also packed files with scanning ). Is this normal reaction in Avast or is there something wrong in my computer ?
Avast cannot scan files that are encrypted or password protected. So it is normal for avast to not be able to scan these files. There should be nothing woring with your computer
But they weren´t encrypted or password protect files. So?
Then what reason did avast give for there not being scanned!
I don´t remember It was something like this: Avast cannot open these files and there was about 20 files in the list which wasn´t be able to open and scan with Avast.
Can windows do something like this ?
Is there log files some where or report about this ?
If I chosed Normal Level scanning without packed files, then everyhting is fine and that error list doesn´t showed up.
Unfortunately, without the reason given for being unable to scan (corrupt archive?), I can’t possibly guess what the problem might be.
Everything seems to be okay with my computer after all. I just wonder what that message means about unscanned files. Viruses not found and I´m glad about that!
It is only a notification that avast has been unable to scan a file, not that it is infected.
Some programs cannot be scan if they are in use. Like if you turn on a Printer, there are some programs that won’t be able to scan untill you turn off the Printer. Some other files like Ad-aware cannot be scan for some reason but I trust that Ad-aware is virus free.
That´s might be the anser; I´ve got Ad-aware Free version on my computer.
avast! just can’t scan some files in Lavasoft but you can be certain that you won’t find any virus thier.
