I have a Chromecast and use the Chrome addon. It only works when I disable Avast. I don’t want to do that every time I have to use Chromecast, so how do I configure Avast to allow Chromecast to operate?

That’s the version I have, and it does have a firewall. I had it on private for both Chromecast and my network, but that didn’t help. I tried to make them “friendly” but cannot find a way to do that given the information that is available on Avast.
This uses to be a very simple task several years ago but has only become more difficult as Avast has grown. Shouldn’t the opposite be true?

Yes, it was and I searched and there wasn’t a resolution. Since the post was over 120 days old, the forum reminder suggested I create a new post. Which I did.

- Is “Internet Connection Sharing Mode” enabled via Firewall > Settings > Policies?

It wasn’t as simple as those noted before, but your specific steps to go into policies, and to tick off “Internet Connection Sharing Mode” worked after I closed and reopened my browser.
