Cisco AnyConnect VPN client conflict with Avast Webshield

Hi, i have a problem with sftp connections (using WinScp or Filezilla) to my company servers whenever i connect to company network using Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client v4.5.01044 (VPN client). I can usually connect in, but receiving frequent timeout errors whenever i try to browse the ftp server or download files. After turning off each Avast shield i discovered the problem lies with webshield, however even if i disable every function in webshield settings and put both WinScp and Cisco VPN client to exclude list, the problem still persists. If i disable webshield completely, the problem is gone and everything works perfectly.

I am using Avast Internet Security v18.5.2342 (build 18.5.3931.0) and Windows 10.

Any advice? If i do not resolve this problem i would have to switch back to ESET (where there is no conflict), which would be a shame.

Could you try running a repair to see if that solves the issue?

Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

If not, let me know and I’ll get it escalated to the Web Shield devs.

Hi, i did what you asked, but the issue still remains. Could you please escalate it to the Web Shield devs? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I’ve just escalated it to the devs. You should get a reply soon.

Sadly i didn’t :frowning:

If Repair doesn’t fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:

If you need additional help with the Clean Install, watch this:

It was finally fixed with recent Avast update. Thanks devs!

Thanks for the feedback.
