CLAM AV and IMMUNET joins together

Hmmm… It’s smelling bad… a freeware that will become a shareware…

@ Tech

They integrated ClamWin’s engine into its Cloud infrastructure alongside a number of other detection technologies.

In return,

ClamWin got powered by Immunet

Now ClamWin is a cloud AV

After few months,

ClamWin and Immunet are going to depart in two directions in the sense that ClamWin will introduce new features on its own

But ClamWin will always rely on Immunet cloud infrastructure

Its installed on my XP Pro system now.

Wow the definitions multiplied by 2!!! :o

I’ve been using Prevx and Avast without problems for over the past year without problems, so you can use both together. The Prevx GUI is simple and clean, and also works well with Online Armor firewall.

???

Edit:
Sorry extremely sorry,
for my technical fault it was posting by three times.
again sorry.

It was slowing down my XP Pro system too much and broke the mouse scroll wheel function so it is now removed!

I do not need the protection of Fort Knox.

thanks for the clarification Chris.
One more question, do you also have this alert? pls see attached file.

This is not a problem but I just wanna know if anyone of you have this.

thanks

Exclude C:\Windows\Temp_avast5_ folder into Immunet settings.

I think you might be using an old version of Immunet. There was a problem quite some time ago which was
fixed through an update.

thanks for the advice Tech.

hi bob, im using version 1.0.26,
actually it doesn’t bother me because it does not cause any conflicts or errors. i just wanted to know what causes this. could it be the virus def. updates?

thanks again.

Your running the latest version. What’s strange is that I never got a warning and I’ve also updated avast! 5 ???

@bob
actually it doesn’t have any warning pop ups. i just found it was detected as a threat, when i looked at the summary and history in immunet protect.

It doesn’t cause any trouble though.
But I just excluded the folder as suggested by Tech.

Immunet Protect failed to install for me ??? have to try later I guess.

@ sj

Please run the diagnostics tool and send it to support@immunet.com

I don’t have this problem.

Please also include the problem and give the link for that image in the message 8)

I blogged about the story here.

http://dontsurfinthenude.blogspot.com/2010/03/anti-virus-in-cloud.html

There’s some interesting information I came across about how Immunet is able to glean detections from AVG, Mcafee or Norton without using those engines itself- but you’ll have to read the blog to find out more!

Any feedback appreciated.

Interesting read Frank…

Hi Frank,

Nice blog about cloud av and Immunet.
