Client database error

Hi,

Got a bit of a strange one with a catch-22 situation.

An employee left the company a couple of months ago (had admin rights). A new employee is starting (not given admin rights yet). With someone with admin rights there is no message if you open the Avast client [4.7], but with someone without admin rights there is a message that there is a problem with the local client’s database. It says to either update the ODBC or make an the AVAST4.INI database.

The system has Win XP SP3, so it has the latest ODBC drivers.

The AVAST4.INI says the line Database= should be changed to Database=XML (or another option). It’s right now Database=SQLT. But I’ve sampled a few other systems and they are all Database=SQLT.

Additionally, even by disabling the services, I can’t change the line because it’s in use (I gather).

This happens when I open the client at around the splash screen. If I kill the client, the splash screen disappears but the client upens up normally.

Sounds like something that a simple uninstall, and a re-push installation from ADNM could fix that. I’ve never had any corrupt local databases before, nor any issues with admins and non-admins, so I’ve never had to edit the ini files.

I figured that but it’s strange that a local admin gets no error but a non-local admin does.
