Cloud Care Price Increases

Has anyone heard anything about price changes for Cloud Care? I haven’t. It’s that time of year to review pricing for my clients and I was curious if anyone has heard anything.

I have not heard anything. I wish they could bill us in Canadian dollars. With the exchange rate and the exchange charge on the credit card, it gets a little pricier.

Well it finally happened. I received an announcement email today about price changes coming on March 16th. For me the biggest price increases are for patch management and content filtering. Av and patch management are staples for every install with content filtering varying depending on client’s network firewall use.

Well we received out new prices a couple of days ago.
basically a price increase of approximate 61%

What greed

We currently $28.81 for 1 License two years coverage and resell for $45
This is great as the customer gets a great deal compared to most opposition AV’s.

All very fair IMO for Seller, Reseller and Customer.
It makes it an easy sell but to maintain our margin for this new pricing we will need to sell at $75 1x license for 2 years this is TOO MUCH! 61% in one go really 10 or 20% no problem.

Why is it that so many of this type of company thinks they can charge what ever they want and their loyal resellers will just follow. Will they really be making more money if they lose 20 - 50% of their resellers!

Two philosophies

  1. Keep prices low and sell lots of product.
  2. Put prices up make more per item but sell less.

ALL TOO HARD MAYBE WE WILL SELL SOME OTHER PRODUCT LIKE TRENDMICRO AND MIGRATE OUR CUSTOMER AWAY FROM THIS UTTER GREED.

Yes 61% increase in price e.g. 1 x License of CloudCare for 2 years (was/will be until march 16 2026)

Purchase Price $28.81 Australian including GST

New price $42.18 + GST = $46.40

Percentage increase 61%

Avast did not consult their resellers in any way that I know.
Just 61% there you go for being good resellers and making us lots of money.

It looks like we have all experienced the same issue. I am starting to think someone at Avast has made a wrong calculation. I would encourage you all to connect with your sales rep. I did and we came to a reasonable agreement. If we hadn’t, I would have been forced to migrate the CloudCare clients to Datto RMM EDR. I still believe CloudCare to be a superior product, even without the EDR. And CloudCare is so straightforward to manage, where Datto EDR takes some serious getting used to. Anyway, talk to your sales reps. I think there are people at Avast who think that us as partners are the enemy. They don’t understand that we are their biggest asset. AVG understood that.

Welcome to the team, Trevor.

Here in Australia they closed the only full time office they had. Last time I contacted the rep they couldn’t do much of anything. I will try to contact them later this week but can be hard as not sure they work every day and as they are the other side of Australia (NSW) they are 3 hour in front.

Anyway I would highly recommend that every one that can complain to Gen about this huge and unfair increase.

Yeah, that is a pain, not to have a local office. Yes, the increase is ridiculous. They need to rethink it. Sorry you are having this much trouble getting help.
