CloudCare and SnapDragon processors

It would appear that Microsoft is pushing Snapdragon processors in the Surface Pro lineup. I have a client that was careless when they bought their Surfaces and they didn’t check the processor, and from what I can tell, CloudCare will not run on a Snapdragon processor.

Does anyone know if that is true, or have any experience with this?

We had the same issue and we wrote to AVAST.

The answer was: “unfortunately, we don’t plan to release support for Windows ARM processors for Avast Business in the upcoming weeks. However, we understand there’s an increasing need to have these processors supported and will take this into consideration when planning projects for the next quarters”.

You can use Avast Premium Security (consumer product) to protect your customer’s device.

Well, that is sad. So much for the old Avast catch phrase “Why complicate?”. (Maybe that was AVG.) Their “Flagship” product is behind their retail product in developement. So we end up with a mix of some computers protected with a centrally managed product and then some using a retail product. Their new catchphrase whould be “Let’s get complicated!”.

Thanks for the update. Maybe they will address the issue sooner than later.

it took several years from the time we resellers started asking for and the addition of a Mac OS client, so I wouldn’t expect snapdragon support for a few years.

Yeah, I suspect you are correct. :frowning:

Even if/when they get support for SnapDragon processors, who’s to say that it will be integrated with Cloud Care for managing it? Everything I have seen and heard “screams” it will not be available for Cloud Care.

Yeah, CloudCare does get left out of some of the new technology, like Ransomware protection.
