Code Emulation vs. DeepScreen

Hi guys,
Avast Code Emulation is the same thing DeepScreen?
If I disable DeepScreen, Code Emulation is also disabled?

Thanks.

No.
The Code Emulation in scan / shield settings is a “basic” code emulation used to unpack specific samples.
DeepScreen is a significantly more complex (and powerful) technology - combines the code emulation (a more powerful one than the previous setting) with virtualization and more.

Thanks, igor. Reading between the lines, so to speak, does that mean that if DeepScreen is active, the code-emulation option is no longer particularly useful or necessary?

No! Code emulation is used during a scan. Deepscreen is completely different in that it’s most important
role is during software installs and runs in a virtual environment. The two technologies are different however
both are important for different reasons.

OK, thanks.
