when run an Full Scan with avast! Free Antivirus version 7.0 (36454) i see an memory use of com.avast.MacAvast.MAD with 2,8 GB!. I run on macbook pro with 8GB Ram and Mac OS x 10.7.3. When the full scan is finish the com.avast.MacAvast.MAD will not release the memory back
I had not payed attention to that process, but I just ran a scan and it consumed 1.84GB and stayed at that level even after the scan completed, also on 10.7.3
UPDATE: After Force Quitting the process it relaunched with a much more typical memory use of 25MB
