I am not sure how representative this test is but I tried Gibson research’s Shields Up test https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 with both Commodo and Avast in their standard, unmodified versions as downloaded.
System (Windows 7, 64bit, Athlon dual core, 4gb ram) came out clean apart from the ping test though I think that may be my router answering.
Avast still relatively slow to load though even after clean install (avast tool used to remove previous version).
Once its going its fine though, so far so good.
