To temporarily disable Avast, follow these steps:
Right-click on the Avast icon in the taskbar (usually a shield) and select “Avast Shield”.
Choose the duration of the deactivation: you can disable Avast for 10 minutes, 1 hour, until you restart your computer, or permanently.
Click “Ok, Stop” to confirm the deactivation.
Avast will warn you about the risks of disabling the antivirus. Click “Disable” to confirm.
To reactivate Avast, go back to “Avast Shield” and select “Enable all shields”.
Remember that disabling your antivirus can leave your computer vulnerable to threats, so do so only when necessary and reactivate Avast as soon as possible.
