Completely uninstall subscribed Avast Premium-many leftovers?

It appears that Avast Premium Security was causing problems with my Windows 10 and I was advised to uninstall it. Well, my bad, as I used Revo uninstaller to do this and was left with a lot of Avast leftovers. It was then recommended that I reinstall Avast, go to safe mode and use AvastClear to uninstall. After doing this, I ran an Avast search on Everything, and came up with a lot of Avast leftovers (see screen shot below.) Although I didn’t check everything that was found, I did find that almost all were either empty folders or files, but some didn’t allow access. Anyway, here’s a screen shot of the leftovers and I like to know how I can completely clear my computer (HP 750-114 Envy desktop) of Avast. Thanks.

You don’t use Revo to uninstall any AV program.

Uninstall Avast
Download the Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop http://www.avast.com/en-gb/uninstall-utility
For Windows XP and Vista get the Avast Removal tool from here https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Uninstall-Antivirus/
Uninstall Avast via the control panel and follow the directions.
Run the Uninstall Utility and accept the reboot to safe mode
Once complete reboot your system.
A video to help you use the Avast Uninstall Utility is available at https://youtu.be/KD8LO8OxmvM

Thanks for the quick reply. But, as I believe my OP says, I did use avastclear in safe mode to uninstall Avast, but there are Avast leftovers with either empty folders/files or folders/files that won’t allow access. This is the problem: Want to get rid of leftovers.

What’s the reason given for not being able to h=get rid of files and folder?
Where are they located? The more details you share the easier it will be to offer help. Thanks

Take a look at the site I reference in my OP. It is a screen shot of my Avast Everything search that will show you the leftovers and where they are.

EDIT: I was able to manually delete many of the leftovers. However, some won’t respond to delete and other are asking for more permission…https://www.flickr.com/photos/187947376@N03/51254210504/in/dateposted-public/

Please attach your screenshot(s), some of us don’t follow external links.

Here’s that attachment:

So which ones can’t you delete (as Admin) and what are the reasons(s) given?

I used Unlocker to remove just about everything. The only files that wouldn’t budge were
…(1) C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Avast Premium Security.lnk and (2) C:\Users\Public\Desktop\Avast Premium Security.lnk.

Both files are shortcuts (lnk) If you select that shortcut, you should bet an error message stating that the program the shortcut links too is no longer available with an option to delete it.

  1. Is this not in the location given above in Windows Explorer ?

  2. Is this not on your desktop ?
However you would somehow need to get to that desktop C:\Users\Public\Desktop\ and not your personal desktop.

They are still shortcuts and if the referring program is history, those lnk’s have no home base.

And shouldn’t be an issue, but if the OP is trying to get rid of everything, then it is up to them how far to go.

Just want to thank all for your help. As it is only two links that go nowhere that are still reluctantly remaining, and they don’t seem to be interfering with Windows, I’ll just live with them.

You’re welcome.

I guess you didn’t try the suggestion?
