Computer keeps saying Antivirus out of date!!

My computer keeps telling my avast is out of date, which it is not, I have updated it and it works perfectly. What should I do???

Ensure that the system date, day/month/year is correct and adjust as required.

What Operating system are you on?

Microsoft Windows XP

The OS would make no difference to this error message.

If it is the Windows Security Centre or Windows Action Centre reporting avast is out of date (?) it gets its information from the same sources, avast and the system date for comparison.

So you need to confirm your system date is correct and if not adjust it.

I ask the OP that question cause my system time & date was once wrong. and Win7 has troubleshooters and i ran one and it fixed it…

It couldn’t be easier to check the system date, just hover over the clock and it shows the full date. Or click on the clock and it displays the full date so you are able change it if required.

No need for any troubleshooters required.

I checked the system date and time and everything is correct. So im not sure what else it could be, but thanks for the tips!

OK, try a repair of avast.

Add Remove programs (Uninstall a program), select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You may need to reboot after the repair.
