Please help me with this. I have read the other threads and I attach the file obtained with FRST.
Thank you.
Hi I cannot guarantee that this will help, but I will disable Avast
Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same USB as FRST
Run FRST as before
Press Fix
On completion try a normal boot
Thank you for the quick reply.
But… it still hangs. Now it is another .sys: classpnp.sys
I have attached the 2 txt files generated by FRST…
Any ideeas?
Thanks
Alas that proved it was not an Avas6t problem, what happened prior to the non-booting ?
My 7 years old kid playing free flash games and clicking at random, my wife clicking some buttons when the computer failed to start the first time, and then powering it off “while it was doing something” …
So … I was hopping to repair it without a fresh windows installation, but it seems it is more complicated than it seems.
Thanks, and I am still waiting for a solution `till I get at the office tomorrow where I keep my windows cd.
From the safe mode menu have you tried the last known good option
That and Restore Point, to a number of other previous dates. When trying the restore point option, it gives me an error at the end, and doesn`t complete the restore.
From the recovery console select Command prompt
Type in the following command and press enter :
chkdsk c: /r
Allow the check disc to complete (it may take a while)
Then try a reboot
