Having a problem when shutdown where I get a dialog box message saying I have a CD in the machine and it want me to remove it. There is no CD in the machine, I have been running Avast pro for many months and have never had this problem. It seems to have occurred after the last program update. The version of the program I am using is 4.6 Build April2005 (4.6.652) I am running XP Pro with all of the latest upgrade. Any help is greatly appreciated
Michael
Do you have a thumbdrive by any chance ? avast! is recognizing thumbdrive as removable media (logically)…
In the mean time, you can go to the program settings (right click avast! blue ball in your system tray), select the “Common” tab on the left side and uncheck the option “Check CDs in drive when logging off”, and you can also uncheck other two similar checkboxes in case they are checked - floppy and other removable media).
See if that helps any…
Cheers !
Yes I had a flash drive installed in my USB port, once remove all worked correctly. The Dialog message focused me to the CD drive so I did not think about any other devices.
Thanks for your help
Michael
Michael, I’m glad I could help…
Btw, WELCOME to forums !!!
Ask whenever you need something…
Cheers !
In fact, ‘Removable Media’ will be better… If the error message is related only to CD then the user will be confused.
Igor, can you change it?
I’ll try to do something about it for the next version.
