I have a problem with my pc, in that it invariably shuts off for no reason. I have tried to scan my hard drive for viruses related to this problem, but my computer always shuts off before the scan is complete. What should I do? Thank you!

We will need a little more info before helping. What OS, anti-virus, other security programs, any warning messages, etc ???

Thanks for your response. My computer is running Wndows xp, with service pack 2. My computer completely shuts down; no blue screen, when this problem occurs.
