Hi new to this forum. I have used home free version for a year and starting at the end of oct. started getting the connection interrupted page from firefox but also get in IE. It only happens if web scanner is on. turn it off everything is ok. thought at first it was tied to threatfire issue but after uninstall new it wasn’t. I have tried a complete uninstall/reinstall of avast but that didn’t work any suggestions? Other than threatfire nothing has changed on pc.
Are you saying that uninstalling ThreatFire made nothing to the computer?
Any other security program that could interfere? Which is your firewall?
other than the loading time, threatfire off or removed made no difference to the connection problem. I have comodo firewall with defense+ turned off and with the threatfire issue resolved, using it as my hips. I use sandboxie but have tried outside it with no luck. When i turn off web shield everything works great. I also noticed with web shield on now and then pages will not load completely rendered, refresh or try again button corrects immediately. I have avast listed as a trusted application in firewall. Forgot to mention this happens completely at random. It may not happen for an hour or so then can may do it every 2 or 3 times in a row when changing pages.
Won`t a clean reinstall of Comodo (uninstall / boot / install / boot) help?
Are you using the .1296 version of avast!? It seemed to resolve some similar problems for me and others. Does anything show up in the avast! log or the Comodo log? Are all of the avast! components trusted in Comodo?
When i reinstalled avast got 1290 immediately updated to 1296, tried it out but it did not fix it. I then tried the repair in uninstall/repair. Avast logs said nothing added. Five days ago i updated comodo from 3.025 to new 3.5 got firewall only, it kept all old settings. If i try a uninstall/reinstall will it defeat the purpose if i export configuration then import back in? I’ve tried removing entries from firewall and let it relearn. All avast in firewall are trusted for now , usually keep everything at outgoing only except browsers. Just before writing this visited igoogle page, have several photos in it, the page loaded fine but one of the photos had connection interrupted page in its place. I will give it a week or so and then probably just do without webshield.
Comodo 3.0.25 had a bunch of strange bugs in it-I stayed at 3.0.24 because of them when I was using Comodo on one of my computers. Might be worth a fresh CIS firewall install and putting things in learning mode for a while instead of importing your settings, especially if they were generated with 3.0.25. They seem only “sort of compatible” for some people with 3.5.
I’ve downloaded fresh copy of comodo, will try uninstall/reinstall tomorrow and post back with results thanks.

Problem resolved. Fresh install of comodo seems to have worked. I’ve been online for several hours and have not had any “connection interrupted” pages come up. I thought about reinstalling several days ago but wanted someone else to suggest it/read:(push me) because of the inconvenience to learn and organize applications in permissions. It’s done and over with, thanks to all for input and time.
