consrv.dll, Win64:Sirefef-C [drp]

Hey all, lately i have been having a problem properly removing a virus. I am able to detect and chest it through avast, but cannot boot the computer after shutdown and need to system restore back to an infected state.

It shows up as c:\windows\system32\consrv.dll, and avast calls it Win64:Sirefef-C [drp]. I’ve tried looking up a way to deal with the problem and came up with nothing, so i kindly ask if anyone here could take a look at it and help me out.

Attached are the mbl log and results from OTL and aswMBR.

Sorry for the delayed post, at work and all.

Anyways, i went to reboot the system and it BSOD on me with no workable system restore points and safe mode not working. Didn’t have any back-up cd’s or system image set so i just did a factory reset.

So i’m just wondering if it’s still a point to check if something might still be off or just assume it’s a blank slate now? Either way, I appreciate the quick help from you guys!

At what stage did it fail to boot ?

Was it after OTL or Combofix ?

A factory re-install wipes the drive clean

It was after OTL. I made the mistake of running avast beforehand and consrv.dll was moved to the virus chest, which always leads to BSOD on reboot. Except this time i didn’t have any restore points that worked. I didn’t have anything too important to lose, so resetting it wasn’t a big issue.

Last Known Good would have worked just as well, but the OTL restore point was created after Avast had killed it…

Still if all is well now
