Since I upgraded to Advast Pro I am getting Active X messages on a regular basis. I think that it is interfering with my Turbo Tax that I just loaded as after I get this message I get a blank screen instead of displaying the info on page.
We will need more information to be able to help you:
- Which OS are you using? Is it up to date?
- What avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number?
- What was the filename and path where the virus was found?
- Which actions have you taken to try solving the problem?
- Do you use a firewall? Which one?
- Do you have any other antivirus installed in your system?
- Any other security programs that could interfere?
- Any useful information into Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Events, specially ‘Errors’.
Please, post a screenshot ot the messages. To know how to post a screenshot, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=8982.0
You can use Gadwin PrintScreen to get a screenshot (http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/) or the free version of WinSnap 1.1.10 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_winsnap/?2173).
I am using XP with FireFox. I have version 4.7.
Everything is up to date as I had a virus infection that resulted in losing all my files so we had to start over and format disk and install all programs and OS again. It is at that time I decided to upgrad to the Advat Pro 4.7
I don’t get any error messages but I keep getting this message on my screen anytime I need to display something (Like a tax form).
"An ActiveX Control on this page might be unsafe to interaction with other parts of the page. Do you want to allow this interaction.
This rest of the info you requested is all kind of greek to me.
I didn’t have this problem with the Free Advat Virus program.
Which site are you trying to contact?
It’s an estrange message for Firefox… that usually does not use ActiveX components…
I am trying to access TurboTax.com. I’ve tried it with FireFox and IE same results.
After working all day on it IMO it is something between Advast and XP programs that aren’t set up right and I have no idea where to look.
Page is ok… but I can’t tell further… I mean, the scripts on that page.
What is it you are trying to do I have just entered turbotax.com in firefox and it redirects to http :// turbotax.intuit.com.
What is your firewall ?
