Constant Reboot after scheduled Boot-Time Scan

Hello,

after discovering problems with URL Hijacking on my dad’s laptop yesterday, I downloaded Avast to do a scan. I started with a small area scan because I already had a hunch to where the malware was hiding, and sure enough, I found it. After moving that into the chest, Avira prompted me to schedule a boot-time scan and restart. After doing so and moving 18 (!) trojans into the chest by the time I got up this morning, I left it to continue booting up while taking care of other things…when I came back, it was starting to boot up again. I continued watching it and watched it restart 3 more times before i put it into safe mode to scan again. The second scan came up clean, and I deleted all of the infected items in the chest because they were all in either temp folders or infected restore points, which according to my research, were unusable after being moved into the chest.

I tried rebooting again, but it still repeats over and over. How do I fix this?

You wrote Avira don’t you mean Avast? If so try this
check disk.
Go into safe mode-----My computer —Right click C drive—Properties—Tools.
Check Now—Check box–Automatically fix file system errors.
OK then reboot.
If this doesn’t work go into safe mode click on run type msconfig Enter – check Diagnostic start up & reboot.

Sometimes it can be a bad sticking power switch supply or memory etc, but don’t think so in your case
