Is there any way to contact someone outside of the contractor Avast is using for customer service and tech support? It appears that a situation similar to the “overselling” of a year or so ago has occurred and attempts to rectify the situation at the normal customer service number went badly. Is there also a link for a clean uninstall of a bundled Avast antivirus product? It was a pop up warning that the computer was unprotected unless Avast was updated(even though there was already updated antivirus active) that started this, the customer service rep telling my client his computer was going to crash if he didn’t pay $169 for a year of tech support added to it, then when I called(with my client on speakerphone) the tech support person lied stating that it was my client who told him that his computer was going to crash unless they(Avast) fixed it.
There was more, much more but now all we want is for my customer to be refunded and a clean uninstall. Thanks for any help if you can give it. My patience has been worn thin and my customer is threatening legal activity.

Thanks so much for responding. I will give them the link as well as providing the rest of the details of what happened. And thanks very much for the clean uninstall. I maintain computers and laptops for seniors on a fixed income and I also do this free of charge to them. None of my clients are “power users” so other than clicking off notifications I leave most everything as is but this Avast one has really been invasive despite my clicking off all notifications.
I didn’t find out about it until after he paid almost $300 in tech support and the one year of maintenance package. The technician also “cleaned up” his computer to make it work faster but apparently too much was cleaned up because some of it was left inoperable.
