Context menu not working in 7.0.1466

Ever since I installed Avast, I noticed the context menu not working in the Avast settings,
for example, if you want to paste a path to create an exceptional rule.
There’s nothing visible but the right and lower edge of the context menu.
In such a moment you are forced to use the according keyboard shortcuts.

Oh,… and let me add, the round graphic of the real time protection doesn’t fit into the window of a netbook,
which has a resolution of only 1024x600 (that’s not adjustable on these devices).
@avast-team
Could you make that graphic a litte bit smaller or add a scrollbar, please?

Both the desktop computer and the netbook are XP Home SP3 devices.

Context menu works fine for me, try repairing your avast install via remove programs and reboot.

I’ve done this already,… in vain.

Maybe it’s working for you because you’re on Win7?

If you mean the avastUI, Settings, Exclusions, I’m not sure if this ever had a right click menu, like for Copy, Paste, etc.

If you hover the mouse pointer below the last entry you should see a change with the field displayed, just use the Ctrl+V to paste your exclusion. If you use the Add and Browse button then when the navigation window appears you should be able to Right click Paste in that (or use Ctrl+V) to the path field and that works.

Actually, I think, there is a context menu.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t see the right and lower edge of that menu.

As for the 2nd section of your post, that’s what I mean by “keyboard shortcuts”.

I don’t see anything in my XP Pro system, but I checked my win7 netbook and that is present, but they are all greyed out.

I am not sure I understan what you want or DavidR saying:

If you mean the avastUI, Settings, Exclusions, I'm not sure if this ever had a right click menu, like for Copy, Paste, etc.

But I do have it. See my image.

Yes, that’s the menu, I was referring to.

That one is missing on my netbook, my desktop computer and the desktop computer of a neighbour of mine.
They all are XP Home SP3 machines.

Well I am running XP Pro Spk 3 and it has always worked for me.

If repair did not fix it, you can try a clean install.

Run aswclear.exe first in safe mode: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

Download and save a fresh copy of Avast!. Be sure to have your lincense handy if running a paid version:

http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe

I don’t think this will solve anything.

As mentioned before, I’ve got this issue on three different machines.
Each of them with a different hard- and software configuration.
The only things in common are the Home version of XP and the free version of Avast.

Don’t have a XP home version handy to try it out, but it works in another XP pro, Vista, and W7 I have close by.
